Today, graffiti is in every major city of the western world, but it is mostly depicted as a negative, rebellious youth activity causing anger and an unjustifiable fear within the community.
SPRAYED CONFLICT
gives an understanding of what it is about the graffiti scene that is so powerful that it becomes an addiction. It focuses on a 23-year-old graffiti writer ‘Duel’ known around the world through the universal network.
Duel (born 1969) is a Melbourne-born, Australian graffiti artist and break dancer.
Starting out painting trains and walls in the 1980s, Duel was one of Australia’s earliest accomplished graffiti artists.
He featured in the 1994 television Australian documentary, Sprayed Conflict by producer/director Robert Moller which appeared at a number of Australian film festivals and was released on video and later on DVD.
Duel is the younger brother of Australian author, Donna Williams.
